Description

During REX's development, the Metal Gear engineers became concerned of what would happen if REX, after it was completed and doing solo ops in the field, was detected by the enemy and forced to engage in close range combat against conventional forces. They then decided that they could make REX's hull a weapon in itself. Although the program was completed, and had gotten fantastic results from supercomputer simulation, the military shelved the project before they could even install it (as the military viewed it as not being part of their regulations). However, REX's chief engineer Hal Emmerich secretly uploaded the data into REX anyway. [7] Although the first actual prototype for REX was developed in 2005, it went through multiple prototype stages in VR while it was still in the design stage to correct various flaws before being developed. [8] As REX was primarily tested via VR simulations, the Pentagon and ArmsTech needed to perform live testing to compare the simulation data with actual test results. Because of this, they started a field exercise at the remote military facility on Shadow Moses Island. [9] Shadow Moses Incident [ ] Main article: Shadow Moses Incident The strength of the "Shinkawa style" is there for anyone to see—his art books with MGS character doodles are very popular. In an industry where artists work in groups by default, and where you seldom know who is responsible for what, Shinkawa stands out as an artistic "auteur," a true artist with a distinct, exciting, and highly recognizable style. The Gekko is one of the three mecha, along with Metal Gear REX and Metal Gear RAY to appear in the Shadow Moses Island Stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Also, due to the fact that Metal Gear Solid 4 was released after Super Smash Bros. Brawl, this technically marks the Gekko's debut game.

When fighting the Suicide Gekko in REX's hangar during the Twin Suns act, it is recommended that the M82A2 be used instead of the rail gun, as the M82A2, as, unlike the rail gun, it does not need to be charged for a "killing" shot, eliminating the time Snake is defenseless, during which the Gekko can approach and converge. A Gekko possessed a long retractable whip-like appendage with three small manipulators on the end that could extend forward from the underside of the body to a distance of over 20 feet, allowing the Gekko to perform a wide range of tasks on the battlefield. Round 1 continues to heat up, as Day 3 of our Konami E3 Battle continues with 8 new contenders @ www.konami.com/e3/battle/ The model's scale was calculated from theapproximate height of the Metal Gear REX which is 13000 mm. The 3D printing model's chosen scale is 1:32forthe FFF/FDM versionand 1:64forthe DLP/SLA/SLS version. A variant known as the "Suicide Gekko" carried a nuclear demolition charge in its head. These Gekko possessed no onboard weapons apart from the standard internal machine gun. Their function was to get close to a target and detonate their charges, destroying themselves and the target. However, their effectiveness could be limited, as they could be destroyed by very high caliber weapon fire before getting within effective lethal blast range. Designed by INT, its fuse unit and pilot light were also detailed. [6] It appears the wormhole has an increased attraction to a particular point in time -- a point the near future of your era, when war has become a lucrative business, all controlled and monitored by an advanced battlefield control system. Metal Gear REX is operated by the player at the end of Act 4 in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots ( MGS4). REX is the first Metal Gear to be playable in the series (not counting the Metal Gear Mk. II and Mk. III). While piloting REX, pressing the Triangle button will cause REX to "roar." Despite Otacon stating that REX's anti-tank missiles were laser-guided in Metal Gear Solid, and Metal Gear Solid 4 listing the missiles' model as the laser-guided AGM-114P [12], the "AT missile" weapon description refers to them as radio-guided [19] and the missiles are shown as fire-and-forget.

In the early 1960s, Soviet scientist Aleksandr Leonovitch Granin created designs for a REX-like bipedal tank. However, Colonel Volgin of GRU rejected his ideas in favor of Nikolai Stepanovich Sokolov's Shagohod. Drunk and bitter, Granin sent his designs to an American colleague, revealing this to CIA operative Naked Snake during Operation Snake Eater. Later, triple spy Ocelot also stole and delivered duplicate designs to his CIA superiors. The Soviets also researched ways to launch an untraceable missile since 1964. [?] Gekko were, however, exceptionally vulnerable to electric currents. This was best demonstrated at Shadow Moses Island, where a Gekko ended up stepping on a reactivated electrified floor, and ended up paralyzed and screaming before collapsing and then exploding. Few artists working in video games are as renowned as Yoji Shinkawa. As Art Director he was responsible for the visual identity of Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding, aiding creative director and longtime creative partner Hideo Kojima in establishing these seminal titles. Kojima's games are unmistakingly connected to Shinkawa's highly identifiable sumi-e style "doodles" and designs. Metal Gear REX makes a cameo appearance in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, inside the Graniny Gorki facility. During the cutscene in which Granin shows Naked Snake his Metal Gear documents, the player can enter First Person View and see the designs for REX. A screenshot image of REX from Metal Gear Solid can also be seen mounted on the walls in various locations throughout the building.

Metal Gear REX appeared as a participant in the Konami-sponsored event E3 Battle, where it defeated Bahamut from Hard Corps. Uprising for the first round, its weapons systems standing up to the one-man Hard Corps. army. Each weapon unit, as well as the joint mechanism for mounting it, has been set up in detail.")

FEATURED FACT: Cannons, Missiles, & Lasers, oh my! REX’s arsenal makes it a king of battlefields, but its killer weapon is its lightning-fast nuclear-launching rail gun
