So, the sound of the X6 is more congested, lacks treble extension, treble clarity, imaging, and lacks focus and precision throughout the audio spectrum, when compared to my 'rig'. By the way Marantz stopped designing DAC’s after the HD-DAC 1 I think because they know it’s no use designing something around DAC chips who look extremely good on paper but color the sound to stand out in the market.I like the punchier bass in some tracks, I like the added clarity of treble and high frequencies and love the tangible weight that I can sometimes feel is added to the music. It’s still quite OK to my ears, but it’s something you should be aware of, especially if you like warmer and more relaxed presentation.

I have since gotten access to more gear in the form of the AKG N400c TWS wireless buds as well as the TruthEar X Crinacle Zero. Second, the bass sounded crisper, like a drumbeat would be more precise with defined beginning and ending of the beat. Sound quality remains great, and you can sure use it for it if needed, but the hiss will be clearly noticeable in silent passages. Comparing the X6 with my 'proper rig', what i did notice is that the X6 is inferior in just about every way.
