The disadvantage of Titanium Dioxide is that it's not cosmetically elegant, meaning it's a white, "unspreadable" mess. Sunscreens containing Titanium Dioxideare often hard to spread on the skin and they leave a disturbing whitishtint. The cosmetic industry is, of course, really trying to solve this problemand the best solution so far is using nanoparticles. The itsy-bitsy Nano-sized particles improveboth spreadability and reduce the whitish tint a lot, but unfortunately, it also introduces new health concerns. Daily application of broad-spectrum sunscreens can significantly reduce this damage by reflecting or absorbing damaging UV rays. In one study, participants who applied sunscreen daily over a four-year period had no detectable signs of skin aging [1]. Visible light has demonstrated similar effects to UV radiation in the production of DNA-damaging free radicals and can cause abnormalities in skin cells as well as cell death [2]. As a result, please note this is only an experimental label that can be best used to possible identify problematic products you have used in the past. It is in no way a perfect identifier nor a predictor in whether or not it will exacerbate or cause fungal acne. It will continue to be worked on as more information and research comes to light.

Antioxidants protect against visible light in the same way they help protect against UV radiation – by preventing or reducing the production of DNA-damaging free radicals in the skin. The first main difference is that while TiO2 gives a nice broad spectrum protection, Zinc Oxide has an even nicerand even broader spectrum protection. It protects against UVB, UVA II, and UVA I almost uniformly, and is considered to be the broadestrange sunscreen available today. If you are concerned about the health safety of parabens, then feel free to avoid them by looking out for the Paraben-Free icon. There's still a lot of support for avoiding parabens following the better safe than sorry route. If you do we completely support you!Gluconolactone: a Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) that is found naturally in the skin and provides antiaging and gentle exfoliating benefits without sun sensitivity. It is a welcome choice for sensitive skin types as it strengthens the skin’s moisture barrier leaving it more resilient, while also providing potent antioxidant benefits. Pityrosporum Folliculitis/Malassezia folliculitis or simply known as Fungal Acne is a persistent acne-like condition that commonly responds poorly to traditional acne-treating methods. Unlike most cases of Acne where bacteria is the culprit, Fungi is the culprit of Fungal Acne (Hence the name!). There are certain classes & groups of ingredients that have been shown to promote and feed the growth of the Fungal Acne, Fungi such as fatty acids, oils, esters, polysorbates and fermented ingredients. Ideal for anyone seeking a sheer tint mineral SPF. Sheer Physical Protection Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 is appropriate for all skin types, especially sensitive skin. Your mineral sunscreen must-have! Lightweight, sheer and easy to apply, this tinted mattifying fluid sunscreen features a powerful combination of SPF 50 broad spectrum protection against the look of UVA/UVB-induced aging with potent antioxidants and a Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) complex to protect and strengthen skin's moisture barrier against environmental aggressors. Formulated exclusively with mineral sunscreens Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide, this formula does not leave creases, is not whitening and compatible with makeup!

However some sulfates are so good at their job, they can wash off your skin’s own natural oils that keep it moisturised and protected which can lead to dryness and irritation.Lowe, N.
