I've run a TT-02 with a 32T Pinon (made by MST) + 63T spur and you need to trim the gear cover (part D3) from the inside a bit as this large pinion will rub. I suspect that a 31T pinion *might* be small enough to not need trimming. there are talks about 0.6 / 0.8 other - I have no idea what these numbers are and how they apply here one_hit I totally understand you, but I do not have any plans to go for more powerful motor and LiPo batteries. Someday it will happen, I am sure, but not for now and not with two models I have. the part-delivery can be used by the customer within the scope of the contractual designated purpose, My plasma edge II is now equipped with a brushless motor, 12t 3100kv and a 22t pinion. I use NiMH and am very happy with the performance for the moment.

Front/rear gearboxes include 4-bevel differentials for smooth operation, and are sealed to ensure that dust can't get inside. i’m pretty happy with the tt02b as is for the moment, but if you see other suggestions to improve or to anticipate wear out or break, please don’t hesitate I really recommend Tamiya cutters. Quality is very high and makes work really easy and fast. Do not use those cheap cutters. Diffs ready. I mounted almost all parts on drill and sanded edges, to remove all imperfections and excess of material. Probably it will not make any difference, but at least I know that I done everything I could. Somehow, I think that big two gears inside diff need some sanding. They touch diff body and should be perfectly smooth. Straight from box, they have quite a lot material on edge. It is like plastic "hair" on edge.

I chose the Plasma Edge II because it reminded me of the old buggies, I don't like the cab forward designs of today. A mate had a Kyosho Outrage BITD which was essentially the plastic version of the Ultima and looks similar to Plasma Edge II. Another mate has just bought the Dual Ridge because he thinks it looks like the Kyosho Salute from BITD which his brother raced i read the df02 diff would almost fit, just one piece to modify. I also read the gpm one would fit but quality ?. Now in 2019 what would you take ? Can we put ball diff in the tt02b ? What would you change ? So for the gears, after some runs, I don’t ear anything ( I put everything in place again), but the FF01 is now doing some weird noises...I will investigate. The standard kit 70T spur allows FDR down to 7.28 only, which is not great. This triggers the need of the high-speed gear set to push it further down.

I am not sure if I will be able to use the last one. Shafts I have seems to be little long and I am not sure if they will not collide with wheels.The kit comes with a 17T pinion. If you do install the 68T spur that comes with the high-speed gear set, you won't be able to use the 17T pinion since the smallest pinion that can be paired to the 68T spur is a 18T pinion. The only real benefits I can see of installing the high-speed gear set on a TT-02B buggy is that the aluminum spur mount will make the gear spin with a bit less wobble (better fit), which is not a must-have improvement for a mild-power basher. It would also allow to fit gears of other tooth size (module, say 0.8mod instead of the provided 0.6mod) but this would require an aftermarket fully-adjustable motor mount and again for a basher not really needed. You can't fit a 28T or 29T pinion with a 68T spur on the TT-02 with Tamiya's motor mount (mounting holes just allow up to 27T).
