The Tidal version suffers from a little too much loudness, like a lot of digital things from this era do, but it still sounds better and more dynamic than this press. I absolutely agree with all those people, but MOV did a reissue of the original UK vinyl AND the 20th anniversary. The band released their demo also Rage Against The Machine, 11 months prior which contained earlier recordings of 7 out of 12 songs found on this album.

I did an A/B of Take The Power Back from this pressing with the Tidal lossless version, and Tidal is way more dynamic and clear. I own a lot of RL pressings and Ludwig’s initials are always etched distinctively, an obvious R and L. It looks exactly like the etched RL we see on the other photo, just missing the tail of the L at the end of the etching. Side note, if you’re a Ludwig fan, and you like Rush, his cut of Moving Pictures is the only one I’ve heard that I’d say is maybe better than this. The band announced on October 9, 2012, via their Facebook page that they would be releasing a special 20th anniversary boxset to commemorate the group's debut album.

Best overall for me is the Hoffman-mastered SACD, you've never heard this album without all Bob's eq and it sounds even more powerful. I’ve got a G+ copy with some scuffs and surface noise and it still blows the socks off of half my collection!

It has nice resonating bass that goess really deep and i couldnt tell if this is analog or digital but would guess analog. I am sure they did some overdubs and edits here and there, but this was very much a live in the studio kind of record. Coupled with how hard Rage's music goes in general, it really makes for a visceral rock 'n roll experience.I bought this last night, making originally what i thought was a slight mistake (it has the stampers for the later MoV reissue not the first). I also have the other version with the DAT recordings and it’s not as raw or punchy but definitely worth the money as well. It's definitely not an original because on the inner sleeve, the side with the pictures of Peter Tosh etc. On this however, I can hear every individual instrument, which makes their sound hit that much harder. I own another copy of this record and I will say that although the other pressing sounds good, it doesn't have nearly the amount of weight or power behind the music like this original does.
