I have a Brown Virgin Media box attached to the external wall off our house and this box is broken and no longer holds the wires and two way splitter. If you know what you are doing and use the correct cable and connectors it's unlikely that the extra run is going to alter the signal level at the equipment because it probably already runs 100m or more to the cabinet. The new box is an upgraded connection to the cable TV network, but it is much bigger than the previous one. Those things change the impedance of the cable at the pinch points which causes signal reflections, too many of which will degrade the signal and could cause your problems.
