The Deluxe Version features 3 CDs, the Vanilla Version is 1-CD, and the Vinyl Version is 2 Black LPs.The jacket is destroyed on the bottom but the disk cleaned up to a strong VG and plays VG+ to excellent. The reissue boasts B-sides and live tracks, plus the audio for “In The Round In Your Face (Live)” on CD for the first time. I would love to be able to say that the music of my high school days that defined my school, friends and life was R. It was very hard to envision what the dynamics and the final sound was going to be like without bass and drums.

I’m running Klipsch RP-280F’s that have their famous Hybrid Tractrix® Horn and I don’t find the highs fatiguing or distorting at high volume much at all. Sav was playing the part and the problem we were having was the Rock Box clean sound was so compressed you could hear every finger fret movement almost louder than the guitar sound itself. I was getting really worried thinking it was something to do with all my hand syncing of tracks earlier on.

I would love to hear someone remix and remaster the album in a more stripped down version removing the tons of layers of overdubs and sound effects. Plus you get all the bonus material like the B-sides that came with each single, which some of them are great tracks as well.Thirty years after it first emerged blinking into the light, Hysteria, their fourth album, finally gets the multi-disc treatment it deserves.
