I have chosen to kick things up a few notches and have made this Hemingway Daiquiri with the Bacardi 8 Años Rum. Facundo Bacardí Massó, a Spanish wine merchant, was born in Sitges, Catalonia, Spain, on October 16, 1814, and immigrated to Santiago, Cuba, in 1830. Note: If you are astute, you will notice that the sample bottle in the picture alongside my cocktail below is an older version of the Bacardi Gran Reserva 8 Años Rum than the bottle which is the subject of this revised review (see photo above). This full-bodied rum rushes the senses with roasted banana and coffee flavours, with a hint of dark chocolate.All are meant to serve as pure, unadulterated and unflavored (at least mostly) expressions of the distillery’s craft. The proportions may not be exactly as per the original Hemingway Daiquiri, but I have come across many different “original” Hemingway Daiquiri recipe suggestions, and I do not know which the true original is.
