The verdict: Considering I bought this before I even realised it was so similar to its more expensive counterpart I would definitely recommend this one. This bottle is so pretty that I would buy it just for that and the perfume really does smell lovely. It smells very similar to Marc Jacobs Daisy but I can tell the difference ever so slightly – probably because I love the original version of this perfume and bought Miss F a small bottle for Christmas last year. She wears it quite regularly which is why I’m probably more aware that the smell is slightly different. It has very definite similarities though and I would imagine that most people wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. When I looked at the ingredient list, I saw familiar elements like bergamot essence and patchouli essence. The addition of sandalwood essence added a touch of mystique, enhancing the perfume’s overall depth. Miss Tutu is also slightly less mature, so younger wearers might prefer it to Chanel’s vintage chypre. Also, the bottle is a beautiful exaggerated oval shape in salmon tones that I think just stands out well in a personal fragrance collection.

When it came to longevity, Woody Oakmoss pleasantly surprised me. It clung to my skin for most of the day, although it didn’t quite match Coco Mademoiselle’s staying power. The scent’s projection was softer than Chanel’s but still noticeable enough to draw compliments. The perfume held its character well on my skin, but keep in mind, individual experiences may vary. The verdict: A lovely perfume in a gorgeous bottle! It smells very similar to Marc Jacobs and is well worth the price. It is debatable whether or not Shiseido Zen is an exact dupe of Coco Mademoiselle, but there is no doubt that the two are pretty similar.

A big plus is that So Elixir is very affordable without straying too far away from the build of Coco Mademoiselle, though the bottle is a little bland for me with just a light gold curved design. Still, definitely a good contender for anyone who wants to keep a fragrance with the essential structure of Coco Mademoiselle, but updated to be a little more youthful. John Varvatos’ slightly sweeter take on the top notes also allows this fragrance to be more suitable to day wear than Coco Mademoiselle, coming just a little short of that mature structure that Chanel is known for. What about the price tag? Yeah, the price tag might not be suitable for everyone especially if you love wearing your perfume every single day, puff after puff. That’s why here I am to the rescue. I believe you will easily find your perfect Coco Mademoiselle dupe with my Mademoiselle dupes list. Personally, I’m a big fan of Chanel. In love with the brand’s iconic fragrance Chanel No.5, but I can not say floral scents are my thing all the damn time. That’s why a part of me finds Chanel perfumes a bit heavy.
