About this deal

As the most prosperous and powerful dynasty in the history of China's feudal society, the Tang Empire (618-907) was so famous in the world that foreigners call the overseas Chinese people 'the Tang people', the places where they live 'Chinatowns' (literally meaning Tang People Streets) and the clothes they wear 'Tangzhuang' (Tang suit). Features of Tang Suit In colloquial Persian and Arabic, particularly in the Levant region, the term maillot (مايوه) is a generic term used to refer to a swimsuit for both men and women. The term maillot was inducted into the [ specify] English dictionary in 1928; it derived from the French phrase for swaddling clothes. In the French language, the word maillot means "shirt" and is used to distinguish leaders in the Tour de France. The modern French term for a swimsuit, maillot de bain, also makes use of the word. The Tank Suit, Denim’ was introduced into the Army from 23 September 1944 (ACI 1278 of 1944). It replaced the former pattern of denim overalls and was designed to be worn over the drawers and shirt in summer and over Battle-Dress in winter or during cold weather conditions. Your clothing choices will make all the difference on your next fishing trip. As well as helping you stay warm and comfortable at the bank, you can head to the waters edge when the weather has scared all of the other competition away, ready to get your new personal best! Modern technology also means thermal fishing suits are more convenient than ever thanks to the introduction of smart materials, with properties to keep you warm and dry whilst letting your skin breathe underneath. Bib and brace all in one waterproof suits offer maximum flexibility as they can be worn with full upper body freedom. This is perfect for the fair-weather angler who is sceptical about the conditions and doesn’t want to be too warm. In the colder weather, wear your normal clothing or a thermal layer underneath your fishing suit or layer jumpers and a coat over the top for heavy duty protection. For extra convenience, opt for bib and brace suits with a central zip that will prevent the need to undress when you need to use the facilities or remove a layer. Floatation Suits The name "tanksuit" or "tank suit" (as well as "tank top") alludes to the "tank" or pool in which the wearer swims. [2] More and more young Chinese people are inclined to wear Tang suits instead of Western-style suits and dresses on their big days. The Chinese TV presenters also prefer wearing Tang suits during emceeing TV shows, especially at Spring Festival Galas. Travel to China and Experience Chinese Culture There’s an all in one waterproof suit for every angler, so find exactly what you’ve been looking for. Whatever the season, choose lightweight fishing suits for warmer weather or thermal fishing suits for the chillier weather so you can head to the bank without having to worry about the forecast. The Tang suit has had a great influence on the clothing styles of Japan, North Korea, South Korea and Vietnam in history. The Japanese kimono is made on the basis of pao of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), and it has become the national clothing of Japan.

Is this the Pixie suit Bellamy's talking about? I think it might be as I can think of no other waterproof garment that would have been 'new' in 1944 or even that colour. As most of you will know the colours of various wartime era Pixie's can range from creamy to tan to khaki, (I've got a Pixie hood which is a dark green ala the Denim tank suit...I think it might be post-war though). The Western-style clothes and the Chinese attire were compassable at the turn of the 19th century and the 20th century, during which Hong Kong and Macau compatriots distinguished the Western toilette from the Chinese toilette according to the differences between the Western-style suit and the Tang suit.

The suit is typical of tank suits and features the original manufacturer's label in the right hand sleeve. It states the size as ‘Size No. 3’ which will fit up to a 36-38” chest and a 32” waist. The 1944 date is present as is the War Department broad arrow marking. As an integral part of traditional Chinese culture, Tang suits are worn by overseas Chinese people during the Spring Festival each year, attracting many foreigners to wear them out of curiosity. We offer next working day delivery, if placed before 1.00pm on our normal working days.
