About this deal

The screen, on the other hand, is less so. The 14-inch IPS touch panel is limited to 1,366-by-768-pixel resolution, which results in a dull picture when playing videos and viewing images. Its low 220-nit rated brightness doesn't do it any favors, either. The display is a disappointment, especially considering this a convertible laptop. A 14-inch screen at such a low resolution just isn't much fun to use, and the glossy, reflective surface makes finding the right viewing angle difficult. You might get away with 1,366 by 768 in an 11-inch Chromebook, but the coarseness of the resolution is obvious at this screen size. Wireless communications are handled by a Realtek wireless card that supports Wi-Fi 6 (but not 6E, so no 6Ghz support) and Bluetooth 5.2.

Of course, if you're not tied to Windows, the Apple MacBook Air with M1 will give you better battery life, better colors, and better photo/video editing performance for roughly the same price. With a premium price you expect a premium design, and HP certainly delivers with theHP Spectre x360 (2021). To be honest, we never had any doubt that it would; the previous model was one of the nicest-looking laptops we've had the pleasure of reviewing. The Spectre has an incredibly unique 3:2 display aspect, something only found on Microsoft Surface devices, and increasingly hard to find Huawei laptops. It is much taller than 16:9, which is what ships with the Spectre x360 13. HP made the right choice here. With skinny bezels on all four sides, this aspect works at 13.5-inches. It also makes using the Spectre as a tablet or for inking much more enjoyable. As such, the Spectre x360's battery is nice and balanced; it's able to last equally well in both light- and medium-use cases. You’ll easily get through a full work day on this laptop, which makes it an excellent tool for business users who are looking for a device that offers superb performance, fantastic looks, and won’t need to be plugged in until they return home. HP Spectre x360: software and features The OLED screen covers 139.7% of the DCI-P3 color gamut (the non-OLED, 1920 x 1280 screen covered 74.6%). The next best was the ZenBook Flip S, also with an OLED display, at 113.1%. The MacBook Pro measured 78.3% and the XPS 13 2-in-1 covered 70%. We also ran the intensive PCMark 10 battery life test on the laptop, which replicates day-to-day use such as web browsing and video calling. Here, the Spectre x360 managed almost 13 hours – again, a very impressive achievement and a big leap over the previous model’s four-hour result (on PCMark 8).

There’s no doubt about the inherent versatility of the design, though, especially if you want to use a stylus for sketching or note-taking. Even a rather heavy tablet is a lot easier to work on than the screen of a conventional laptop with a keyboard that keeps getting in the way. Design and Keyboard Like the 2022 model and models before, the 2023 Pavilion x360 14 features a plastic chassis, but it still feels solid and well-built. The silver paint finish does a good job of imitating metal. The hinges that hold the two parts together are very solid and beefy affairs that hold everything firmly in position no matter how you set the Pavilion x360 14 up. The HP Pavilion x360 14 2-in-1 laptop is available in a variety of Intel Tiger Lake CPUs. There's the Pentium Gold 7505 and Core i3-1115G4, which are both dual-core CPUs, as well as the Core i3-1125G4, Core i5-1135G7, and Core i7-1165G7, all of which are quad-core CPUs. Every option has Intel Hyper-Threading Technology, which allows multiple threads to run on a single core, accelerating performance in most modern applications and helping make multitasking smoother.

Use this calculator to calculate properties of a regular polygon. Enter any 1 variable plus the number of sides or the polygon name. Calculates side length, inradius (apothem), circumradius, area and perimeter. Calculate from an regular 3-gon up to a regular 1000-gon. HP's B&O-tuned top and bottom-firing speakers delivered a sonic punch when I listened to LEISURE's "Lonely Nights," a funky alternative-pop song. There was a nice depth to the drum hits and a clear sizzle to each tap of the hi-hat. The vocals were crisp but overshadowed, and some of the treble tones of the electric guitar were peaky.

After playing a 15-minute, 1080p video, the underside of this convertible, near the vent, reached 104 degrees Fahrenheit. That's considerably hotter than our 95-degree comfort threshold, so consider buying a cooling pad. The Pavilion will get you through a full workday on a charge, even if its runtime is a few hours short of what we like to see in this class of system. A Solid-Enough Choice in a Crowded Field Finishing in fourth place, the Chromebook x360 14a called it quits just before the seven-hour mark, a disappointing result especially given the low-res screen. The Dell Chromebook 11 earned top marks, fitting for a kid-friendly Chromebook that will likely spend a long time away from an outlet. We tested the HP Chromebook x360 14 (2021) with an Intel Celeron N4500 CPU, integrated Intel UHD Graphics, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage in the Natural Silver color scheme. The CPU and integrated GPU, RAM, storage, and color scheme are configurable; see the table below for more options. It's closely related to the HP Chromebook x360 12 (2021), which is the 12 inch model with a 3:2 touchscreen display and similarly performing CPUs. There are other 14 inch models of this laptop, like the Chromebook x360 14a and Chromebook 14c, but they have different chassis designs and use CPUs with different architectures. To avoid confusion, our review only applies to variants with the model number "14b-cb". Screen

Performance

In terms of raw numbers, the HP Spectre x360 14 review unit we tested put up a respectable average score of 4,937 in our Geekbench 5 general performance test, beating the similarly-priced Asus ZenBook Flip S UX371 (3,880) but falling behind competitors like the Dell XPS 13 (5,254).

measures relative graphics muscle by rendering sequences of highly detailed, gaming-style 3D graphics that emphasize particles and lighting. We run two different 3DMark subtests, Sky Diver and Fire Strike. Both are DirectX 11 benchmarks, but Sky Diver is more suited to laptops and midrange PCs, while Fire Strike is more demanding and lets high-end PCs and gaming rigs strut their stuff. HP's collaboration with Bang & Olufsen has produced winning laptop audio for a while now, and the Spectre x360 14 is no exception. Impressively, the HP's dual-core Core i3-10110U goes toe to toe with the Core i5 of the Acer. The Pixelbook Go's 5-watt Core i5 brings up the rear. Both options are made with Gorilla Glass for durability when using touch controls either with your hands or the Tilt Pen. The glass feels smooth and sturdy, with very little flex, so you won't have to worry about damaging your screen when you swipe, write, or tap away at your programs and files. HP Spectre x360 14 review: Keyboard and Tilt Pen The following formulas were used to develop calculations for this calculator where a = side length, r = inradius (apothem), R = circumradius, A = area, P = perimeter, x = interior angle, y = exterior angle and n = number of sides. The Spectre's palm rejection worked pretty well, and the stylus worked well with both tilting and shading in supported applications. In Paint 3D, using the crayon tool required extra pressure for a deep hue, just like the real thing. I do wish, like some of Microsoft's styluses, that HP would add an eraser to the end. If you don't need a 2-in-1 design, the new Razer Book 13 is an excellent choice, as is Dell's regular XPS 13.
