About this deal

I will be very curious to see if people find this vibed a little different from past Clayborn's. Maybe it's just me and my headspace. But that's not a bad thing. It just feels very far away from LOVE LETTERING and more in line with her debut series. Again, not a bad thing. It's good to mess up your expectations a little.

This is the story of Georgie Mulcahy, who was considered flaky and uninterested and unmotivated by her small town while growing up. A couple years after high school, she transitioned from waitressing to working on movie sets, and ended up getting a great gig as a personal assistant to a famous writer/director, which she kept for years. Absolute perfection—this is the book you are looking for. Georgie All Along is a tour de force, beautifully written and full of charming characters, rich emotion, and delicious spice. With it, Kate Clayborn solidifies her place in romance royalty.” —Sarah MacLean, New York Times bestselling authorHonest and deeply emotional, Georgie, All Along is a smart, tender must-read for everyone who’s ever wondered about the life that got away . . . The romance was so cute but also so meaningful. I loved their chemistry, and I appreciated all the ways that Georgie and Levi encouraged each other to open up and made each other feel seen. I LOVED THEM TOGETHER, and I wanted to hug them so many times! Oh, AND this book has one of the funniest MEET-DISASTERS I’ve read in a contemporary romance in a long time! Clayborn spins a gentle tale of two people who set out to find themselves and stumble into love along the way…The smooth, vivid prose makes it easy to invest in the protagonists’ well-rendered character growth. This introspective romance is a treat.” —Publishers Weekly Absolute perfection—this is the book you are looking for. I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher (thank you!) in exchange for an honest review. ** But a suprise is waiting for her when she get to her home, her paretns are on vacation and have let a man to stay while they were away since he is fixing up his house. SO yes, I think this might be my favorite ever Kate Clayborn. I got a print ARC and used up one whole, brand new sharpie highlighter on it and made so many hearts. Georgie, All Along is a treat of a read, a wonderful story of love and self discovery to sink into and get lost in.” – All About Romance

Georgie is a work in progress, she needs time to find herself and with the help of a notebook she wrote as a teenager she hopes to achieve that. At several points I wondered how those two people had even made it alive to 28 and mid-thirties respectively… To be blunt, the set-up didn’t totally grab me at first. I plodded forward with reading the e-ARC anyway because the idea of passing up a Kate Clayborn novel just isn’t in my DNA. And, to be blunter, the set-up still didn’t blow me away, even after I’d finished reading Georgie and fallen deeply, madly in love with all the characters and their lives and their quirks. The ‘friend-fic,’ a term I rolled my eyes at from the get-go, felt a little odd/weak/silly as a plot device, and Georgie’s epiphany at the end of the novel about her life and the direction it should take also rubbed me the wrong way. Oh, and the impetus for the third act break-up was painfully obvious within the first few chapters. I think I will need to re-read a dozen times to make sure, so stay tuned. That said, I've read this ages before y'all can, I'm so sorry, but this is going to be my favorite romance of 2023. Yup, I called it already. Everyone else can go home (jk I still want to read your books). But then Georgie comes across a forgotten artifact—a “friendfic” diary she wrote as a teenager, filled with possibilities she once imagined. To an overwhelmed Georgie, the diary’s simple, small-scale ideas are a lifeline—a guidebook for getting started on a new path.
