About this deal

Brilliant idea for the little people and my I say big people with just was a wee to do more a man than a woman though.I suppose you could use any poly bags with no holes in them that actually fit around the potette The Dragons’ Den featured BoginaBag Portable Toilet is a unique and highly acclaimed portable toilet that is very robust and boasts a lightweight design. It’s perfect for festival goers or camping enthusiasts who need somewhere to readily use the toilet. It can also be used as a normal stool. I have used one of these for several years on canoe trips and it is still going strong despite being cardboard.

The BoginaBag Portable Toilet is simple to use. It folds out as a stool and you just have to remove the cover and insert one of the specially designed, leak-proof, degradable bags for use. Once finished, the bag’s ‘magic crystals’ absorb any liquid or solid waste, all you have to do is remove the bag, tie it and dispose.

Toilet Tents The chemical inside renders the waste safe & legal for normal garbage disposal. I bring a 2.5' long length of ABS pipe with a screw cap on one end in which to store the used bags. p.s. just noticed that this was from 2011, oh well I expect people still need to shit in the woods in 2012. There are bin liners you could use, but most of these aren’t biodegradable, so you’ll be adding to the world’s mountains of plastic waste. If you must use bags, make sure they’re properly BIOdegradable (like Branq Camping Bio bags).

People are taken out on trips and no one bothers to explain how to properly and safely deal with a basic human need in what is to them an alien environment. Many camping toilet bags (and the Travel John bags) have a sort of crystal-filled ‘nappy’ inside to soak up liquid. We think this is important because a plastic bag filled with sloshiness sounds like a disaster waiting to happen and isn’t pleasant for waste collectors. I hate the idea of using the 'ol cat hole method and leaving human waste and TP in the woods or desert. Otherwise I think this is a great product that certainly beats hovering over one of those pits of Hades any day. Some people suggest using cat litter instead of a liquid. The problem is that it can’t be composted or flushed, so will just have to be put in a rubbish bin. The alternative is an absorbent powder that soaks up fluids and instantly turns to gel. Again, though, it’s headed for a bin.

By night 2 I decided that while I wasn’t ready to moon my neighbours, at least the babes could try out the Bog in a Bag. Ha ha! Brilliant! So, does this make it a Bog Post, rather than a Blog Post. Sorry. I just couldn’t resist… ;) We use the JUPSK trowel above because it has lots of other uses too – from sawing branches to pulling out nails. It has a bag too.
