While I found the initial shift in focus confusing, it is very necessary to make sense of the revelations that come out during the course of the book. They literally are on the run–from her father, from their pasts, and from the law–and they make some pretty terrible choices along the way. What can I say I’m a sucker for a sweet romance, but unfortunately despite starting off great, the story kind of just went downhill.
