About this deal

Julie Walter’s dark and very funny first novel is as assured as her celebrated work for stage, television and the cinema. The story gets more complicated from there, or at least the way it was told made it more complicated, when the plot for me was really very simple. This life-changing Audible Original features a powerful mix of one-on-one life-coaching sessions and a personal narrative with vital take-aways that you can start using immediately. A resolve to be a giant among men, to conquer, plunder and seize the greatness that he thinks is his right.

Julie Walter's dark and very funny first novel is as assured as her celebrated work for stage, television and the cinema.Pity - I'm a big fan of Julie Walters as an actress (which is why I thought I'd take a look), but I really didn't enjoy the book.

For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. Cruelly funny, while remaining poignant, is the scene where Cissy grips Helena in a bear hug, sincerely believing the friends to have reached a glorious oneness of soul.

Eliminate negativity and change your life with best-selling author, happiness expert and life coach Domonique Bertolucci.

I felt Ms Walters tried far too hard with totally unnecessary descriptive passages which did nothing for the story but made me feel a little uncomfortable about the author herself. This grossly oversimplified understanding has created many complexities in our lives and taken away from us the very fundamentals of the joy of living. I loved the overly flamboyant characters, reminiscent of the likes of Edina and Patsy, but the slapstick comedy and one-liners lost their effectiveness by being in a written format, where you rely on the readers sense of comedic timing. Best-selling author Mark Manson brings his signature no-nonsense wisdom back to the subject he started his career covering: relationships. I had high expectations of this book as a fan of Julie Walters but unfortunately I was left disappointed.

In this controversial and exciting listen, Pollan explores caffeine’s power as the most-used drug in the world - and the only one we give to children (in soda pop) as a treat.

No doubt that's what it's like being inside the mind of somebody who's totally round the bend but it makes a crappy book. She is the author of MAGGIE'S TREE, a novel, and THAT'S ANOTHER STORY, her bestselling autobiography. Julie Walters was nominated for an Oscar for EDUCATING RITA, having made the part her own on stage, and starred in BILLY ELLIOT. This deeply personal and supportive series offers listeners an honest and relatable insight into how some the UK's best-known celebrities have coped with mental health difficulties, ranging from OCD to insomnia, addiction to grief, and depression to anxiety.

I really really struggled to read this book and even now if you asked me what happens I wouldn't be able to fill you in. When Cissie takes Maggie to see Helena in New York, it leads to trouble straight away: Maggie disappears into the freezing February night, no one knows where.
