The P5 Wireless deliver a solid 16 hours of battery life with a few battery saving features that reduce how often you have to charge them throughout the day.

It felt better after 20 minutes or so, and after several days of use, the headphones did loosen up a bit–I was eventually able to wear the P5 comfortably for multi-hour listening sessions–but I never forgot I had headphones on. While Apple users get the full advantage of playback and volume controls, Android users can only pause and play.At lower volumes, I prefer the Phiaton MS400 as well – it is only as the volume is turned up that the Phiatons start sounding a bit plasticky in comparison.

Overall comfort feels okay at first since the pads and headband have enough padding to initially nullify the clamp, but over time it gets more and more noticeable and it will start to irritate you. These headphones make a statement with their appearance and feel, something akin to designer watches or bespoke suits. The headphone market is saturated with plastic-based design, but the stylish P5s feel special in every way. The power cell is charged by plugging in a microUSB cable (included), at which point a small LED glows approvingly. Only rarely did I feel that a snare hit or guitar pluck in the mid-high frequency range was a bit too intense.But a soft case doesn’t offer the best protection when you are traveling and want to shelter your headphone investment. The P5W has an undeniably more premium look and feel but there is a certain charm to the wooden earcups of the On2. The leather earpads can also get a bit warm during long periods of use, but that warmth never became uncomfortable for me; we’ll see if this holds true during hot summer months.
