The DK crew are my favorite Nintendo characters and I wish more of them were in the sport/kart games. No, but it’s different enough and unique enough to be something that should be remembered much more highly than it is.Whether you remember him from the old days or you're just discovering him, you can't help but love the big galoot. Trying to jump and move accurately which is required for many of the tougher platforming is just not possible without much frustration.

Unfortunately, the racing is sluggish, the controls are hideous and the visuals looked ropey even at the time.Also, like you said, playing the SNES games is more enjoyable because you can focus on the level design easily. By combining familiar actions, levels, and characters you will feel like you’ve stepped into games of the past, only with updated controls and graphics. In single-player mode, players can only play as Donkey Kong, although Diddy Kong rides on Donkey Kong's back, and Donkey Kong can use Diddy's jetpack to jump further. They're beautiful, have smooth controls, challenging, albeit a tad too sadistic at times, have wonderful music and very fun and memorable levels.
