Description

Fly for longer periods of time without having to worry about a shorter flying duration. The Ruko F11 Gim 2 is a terrific way to battle boredom and be healthy at the same time, whether you’re searching for the perfect pastime or something to take your mind off problems. The camera gimbal has a protective cover you’ll need to remember to remove. It’s latched at the bottom and you need to remove it carefully to avoid any damage to the fragile looking gimbal. The Ruko F11 GIM2 beginner drone has its strengths and weaknesses. It's somewhat heavy, and the camera performance is okay at best, but it's easy enough to fly, and thanks to the spare battery and carry case included in the price, it's a decent value-for-money proposition. Ruko F11GIM2 Drone x1, Extra Intelligent Flight Batteries x4, Extra Landing Pad x1, Extra Propellers x2, LCD Chargeable Remote Controller x1, Type-C Cable x4, Carrying Case x1, Allen Wrench x1, screws x12, Gimbal Protector x1, User Manual x1 I'll start this section with a bit of a confession: My first attempt at trying to fly the Ruko F11 GIM2 ended up with the drone flying into the sea wall situated not too far from me. In hindsight, I could've been farther away from any obstruction, but considering I was out in the open, I thought the GPS would be able to hover the drone steadily.

The Stop button shuts off the drones’ motors immediately mid-flight, which might be useful if you’re going to hit something to prevent additional damage. You need to press it once then again for 3 seconds so you shouldn’t be able to accidently enable it. There’s no charger included, but any 5V 2A portable or wall charger will do. For any RC enthusiasts these are 3 cell 11.1V 3S LiPo batteries with 2500mAh capacity, but you’re limited to charging them very slowly with the included USB cable via their integrated USB-C port at around 0.5A, which will take approximately 4 hours for a full charge.

Funnness: Probably the most important and subjective part, this drone is a lot of fun to fly for a beginner, it really is, and again there are tons of features to support the newness effect fun factor that the operator will be having when they get the drone. It can go really high and really fast, so that combined with the features make for a good time. If you’re looking for a drone simply to enjoy flying, the Ruko F11GIM2 is reasonably powerful and generally flies well despite the small amount of drift. If capturing photos and videos is your main reason for purchasing a drone, there are better options available for roughly the same price, alongside less expensive models capable of delivering comparable image quality, but with less power. The DJI Mini 2 SE might be a better option if you want a lighter drone with a more sophisticated companion app. The feature set and performance of this dinky drone are beyond reproach at this price point. You miss out on some camera features compared to the Mini 2, but the DJI Mini 2 SE offers more than enough functionality for beginners. Read my full DJI Mini 2 SE review.A long press of the power button on top of the battery turns the drone on with a confirmation beep. 4 LEDs light up to show the battery level. This works on the battery when it’s not attached to the drone too but you shouldn’t turn the battery on before inserting it into the drone.

I know camera performance will forever be the weak spot of more accessibly priced drones, but it shouldn't be, especially in the case of the Ruko F11 GIM2, which is a heavier drone, so it could support a larger camera unit. Sure, you can mount an Insta360 GO 3 on the drone and capture much better footage – many drone pilots did this with the Insta360 GO 2, and there is even a special, third-party mount designed for the purpose. Both batteries arrived with around 50% charge, so you’ll need to charge them completely before your first flight. Inside the battery – a 3S 11.1V 2500mAh LiPo battery If you’re looking for one of the greatest inexpensive drones, you’ve come to the correct spot. Ruko is a well-known drone manufacturer that provides high-quality goods at reasonable costs. They have one of the finest price-to-quality ratios in this price range, making them one of the top drone brands. https://www.ruko.net/products/ruko-f11-gim2-4k-camera-drone-with-2-axis-gimbal-for-adults?sca_ref=2296675.eZJB6KJCtK By default the drone is in beginner mode so it’s limited to 30m distance away from you and 30m height. You won’t be able to fly beyond this range and you’ll get a warning if you try. To extend this range tap on the 3 dots at the top right of the screen and disable beginner mode. Then adjust the sliders based on where you’re flying and your local rules and regulations. When completely charged, it has a flying duration of roughly 56 minutes. It also has two batteries, allowing users to fly for twice as long as before. The Ruko F11 Gim 2 drone can be used both indoors and outdoors, but once you’ve begun using it, it’s suggested that you take your time getting acquainted with the controls. Features: Lots of advanced features when you get the app, they will allow you to dip your toes in, but do not expect them to be incredibly fleshed out. For instance, the "follow me drone" feature was cool, but it definitely was too slow if I wanted to take it snowboarding with me. This is a beginner drone remember this. I tested the drone in various conditions and it couldn’t be any easier to fly. I didn’t fly it in very windy conditions but I still felt confident controlling it in a stiff breeze which is one advantage of a slightly heavier drone like this. If you let it hover without touching the controls it’s not completely steady but it’s a lot better than I was expecting. Then turn on the controller with the power button. The first press shows the battery remaining and the second press turns it on. The controller and drone will automatically link with each other which takes up to 40s and the display on the controller will switch from connecting to cal compass. To calibrate the compass first rotate the drone horizontally 1-2 turns. Then vertically with the camera pointing upwards. You’ll get a confirmation beep when this is completed and the front and rear LEDs will stop flashing purple. You have to do this every time you turn the drone on.
