If you are looking for a low profile way to keep track of people off-road, the trail mirror is for you. When having a fall or drop of the bike these mirrors are perfect as they don’t take impact they move out of the way as soon as the come under any unknow pressure. These are the guys I bought them from, but I don't see the exact model I bought back then , but I got five adaptors and I could read the CCC/E9 on the back.

new master cylinders as a result, and I decided it was time to make a really good mirror, one that would function well as a mirror, and also protect the bike (and me) from damage. Ideally, it would even have some ability to give in a crash and prevent damage not only to the mirror, but also to the bike. I suppose any regular bike mirror is nickable without tools, but it’s the RAM bits that people will want, not a poxy Yamaha mirror. They mirrors work in conjunction with RAM mounts, the bombproof but expensive and pilferable mounting system of ball-ends and clamps for just about anything you got. The extension protects the upper part of the fairing while also preventing damage to the radiator and forks.Apart from being almost unbreakable, the other handy thing was being able to fold them out of the way within seconds, even when riding. Swapping out OEM for Double Take mirrors is one of the first things we do with all our Adventure Spec bikes. One of the irritations I've noticed with the bike is that the mirrors tend to unscrew themselves over time. First, because there are two ball joints, you have the ability to position it exactly where you want it, both when extended for viewing, and also when folded away.

However, the amount of commission that we receive from a lender does not have an effect on the amount that you pay to that lender under your credit agreement.Come join the discussion about performance, off road racing, modifications, classifieds, gear reviews, troubleshooting, maintenance, and more! I’ve been using the original round Double Take mirrors for the last few years on various bikes, usually as a back-up mirror alongside an original mirror on the other side of the bars. the supplier in the UK says doubletake mirrors for yamaha need the adapters to fit, but i,m confused our xt1200 mirrors come with a black small adapter fitted as in my picture below is that not the adapter we need. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Third, the joints are stiff enough to hold the mirror at triple digit speeds, but will move if they are struck, which protects you from injury and your bike from damage. After putting a set of Doubletake Mirrors through a rigorous test, I’m now a believer: they are the only mirrors I’ll ever need. If you're really unlucky you're also going to notice that the master cylinder that the mirror is screwed into is also smashed. I’m sure it is possible to break the mirror, but I haven’t succeeded yet and I’ve tried pretty hard, going so far as to race an enduro with the mirror in place.

I've tried many of the "cheaper options" and they all were on the lower side of the quality that I wanted. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. I normally use larger Double-Take mirrors on my dirt bike but am doing a long-distance event where I didn’t want big mirrors getting in the way. If a mirror gets knocked askew, I find that either the thread holding the mirror to the stalk or the stalk to the mount has loosened in the process. We don’t want want any unexpected surprises so we felt it necessary to be clear about who you are trading with and taxes and charges that may apply.

With regular glass embedded in a tough nylon shell, Double Take pitch themselves as ‘the only mirror you’ll ever need’, one that’s ‘virtually indestructible’. You can see them on my bike from the rider perspective in the below video, and hear how much I rave about them a couple of times in the video. We also use different external services like Google Webfonts, Google Maps and external Video providers. Depending on what type of mirrors you bike has, I’d say having at least one Double Take for a long journey (plus the mounts to swap sides) makes sense.Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). The product meets each of the goals I started out with, and after thousands of miles of testing, has proven to be exactly what I was looking for all those years! Out in the AMZ you’d hope RAM mounts aren’t yet hard currency, and once you’re RAMed up for your other gadgets, fitting a Double Take makes sense, especially if you’re riding on the dirt. Designed to be a universal fit (left or right side) it can be quickly adjusted and even folded completely out of the way as required when off-road riding in technical or overgrown terrain. Less vibration and more solid fixing to stop the mirror moving at high speed due to wind blast than any other mirror on the market.
