About this deal

It's cute, the illustrations are badass, and it's got some great tips for success as an adult in there. Ich finde es hat die negativen Reviews von Leuten die nach was anderem Gesuch haben, nicht verdient. By completing your purchase, you agree to Audible's Conditions of Use and authorise Audible to charge your designated card or any other card on file. Ale nie szkodzi, bo to dość zabawna lektura oparta na podstawowych założeniach trzeciofalowego feminizmu. If you're going to using the tarot in a spell, *maybe* you should at *least* have a basic understanding of the tarot as a system?

Instead you are taught about the key concepts surrounding the origin of witchcraft including quotes from books that were written in the 1700s which was incredibly interesting. She has been published in Atlas Obscura, Hazlitt, the Guardian, the New Republic, the Hairpin, the Toast, Eater, Aeon, and others, and identifies as Chaotic Good. This chapter is all about learning how to change your appearance to enhance your self-esteem and confidence. Overall, it was nicely themed motivational book for the girls who fell in love with stories about witches when they were little. The section on domestic violence smacked of privilege, made light of an extremely serious situation and gave dangerous advice.

It covers things like using clothes and makeup to give you confidence, saying no to people, friendships and sex. It's just some fluffy bullshit that makes you think you're gonna get some modern day witch tips but really it reads as a teenage self help book just throwing some crystals and tarot cards in the mix. It's all about FEELINGS, the action figure will make you FEEL better, but it isn't going to actually do you any good, much like the advice in this book.I also like that this spell encourages you to feel gratitude for the things you do have that bring you joy. Doch gerade die Abwesehenheit von religiöser (Pseudo)-Spiritualität spricht mich bei diesem Buch an. Ultimately, if you take away all the witchy illustrations and humorous sections what you end up with is a practical book that contains valuable life skills.

I'm never going to be that person who will find my inner light or believe in mercury retrograde or the universe making things happen. Her work has appeared in many outlets, including the New York Times, Buzzfeed, GQ, ELLE, Electric Literature, Catapult, the Daily Dot, The Toast, and more. This is followed up with a few “kitchen witchery” recipes that involve infusing food with intention, which I think are great! We use all our powers and energies to love and help and do something to fight injustice and all that jazz and that's cool. Her essays have been recognized as notable in Best American Essays 2016 and Best American Essays 2017, and she was also the winner of the 2016 Paper Darts fiction contest. Ok let me start by saying I have been studying and learning witchcraft for more years then I care to say. It's a really helpful book that frames mindful practices and self-help through the lens of witchcraft and spell casting, and has a really good grounding and insight into the history of, and various cultural meanings of witchcraft! I don’t like dogs, but I can tell that its cons being “Sorta dumb, totally filthy, will absolutely betray you to your enemies” isn’t that funny.

I’ve been very interested in witches and witchcraft since I read the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and watched the Craft and the Love Witch (I really recommend this movie if you haven’t already seen it).If you ever wanted to read a book about spirituality where the author(s) consistently deprecate that path by saying "it's not actually real, we're just pretending" then this is the book for you! There’s a little section on “shine theory” combined with a pseudo-Drawing-Down ritual, which helps you be supportive of other women instead of feeling like you should compete with them… not too bad, actually. However, what I was met by was a book that explores the origins of witchcraft, teaches you how to dress and act like a witch and contains spells ranging from accepting compliments to conjuring up a relaxing Netflix binge. But it is this jovial tone that remains prominent throughout which is what kept me reading till the very end, even though it was clear that I wouldn't be purchasing a crystal ball anytime soon. My only real critic of this book is that I personally don't like a lot of the spells they have written.
