Experience a Tennessee Adventure

ERWIN – Cherokee Adventures, centrally located in the mountains of Northeast Tennessee, offers whitewater rafting trips in the scenic Nolichucky River. The Nolichucky, winding through both North Carolina and Tennessee, offers a variety of whitewater rapids that cut their way through a beautiful 3000 foot gorge. The Upper Nolichucky is one the wildest and most beautiful of all river stretches in Tennessee. From the start it drops into a ten mile long gorge with class III-IV rapids. Paddlers don’t need prior experience to enjoy “funyaks” or rafts. Cherokee Adventures will guide you past rugged rock bluffs, crystal clear springs and through mountains that rise to 3000 feet. After lunch, the river eases its intensity allowing a playful afternoon to enjoy the majestic canyon. The Lower Nolichucky is perfect for the family; it’s relaxing and gentle enough for younger children. You’ll pass by 700 foot cliffs, forested woodlands, and sandy beaches.
