Keep an ear out for movies with poorly recorded upper regions, as bullets, explosions, and screams are just too painful on the K712 PRO to begin to bear for me in some Bluray and DVD movies. On the other hand there's recodrings like Led Zeppelin's "No Quarter" and the keyboards feels almost behind you and the depth of sound stage is staggering. Brings me back to these headphones which i will only be comparing to the K7XX’s as i found almost no one who really did this at least very few. The gradual decline after 1kHz does remind me of a Sundara in that it can sometimes feel a tad too relaxed, but it’s a minor nitpick.

The overall sound quality puts it behind the HD 58X/600/650/6XX quartet, but it’s a better package than the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro.It continues the tradition of a somewhat lean bass but still doesn’t feel or sound excessively rolled off. Part of the reason I have never bought AKG is down to their reputation as being rather cold and uninvolving. I can’t wait to get my hands on the K712 Pro to at least do my own review, though I’m sure most of everything I love about the K702 65th Anniversary will still stand. At any rate, I can handle small imperfections, maybe add a slight touch of EQ to the porridge just right for my groove.

L and R are in the same spot, but this time AKG’s logo appears on the lower circle rather than the text on the 702. So read on to find out whether the AKG classic can stand up to the challenges of modern music production. Wow, really have to tread carefully here, otherwise one could use that as an excuse for poor engineering / QC etc etc. The other thing I noticed about the 9500 (and this is something I’ve said for a long time) is that its ability to pick out micro-detail is just so incredibly good – to the point where things in the game actually feel and sound more fully fleshed out. I mostly listen to movie soundtracks (Hans Zimmer) and orchestral music, and play competetive and sometimes casual games. The strings on the sides that stretch to fit your head, while convenient, are going to become weaker along the years, which will affect comfort. It’s lightweight and nimble enough to where you’re rarely feeling it on the top of your dome piece either. If the fault occurs within the first 2 years of your ownership, we'll collect the goods and deliver them back to you free of charge.

The AKG K712 Pro offers a pleasant and honest sound experience, with a well-balanced frequency response allowing for mixing and mastering applications. Taken from an already smooth and lean low even via just my DX50 and ALO International for example, to one of the smoothest low-end experiences with plenty of quantity that I’ve heard in years with the Burson. I liked the K702s a great deal, and while their overall tonality felt a bit toppy for heavily processed commercial styles, this may be beneficial with more natural‑sounding acoustic music, where it will focus attention on subtle high‑frequency details. The bass is impressive, despite its understatement, and as extended as that of the HD650s, but somehow more precise and tuneful.

Eventhough I've heard this song many times I've never noticed the subtle guitar in the left channel during intro playing higher than the other guitar. Most companies end up ruining the treble by placing too much emphasis around 8-10kHz, but the 712 for me is another breath of fresh air. The cups are circular and I’m finding my ears sit pretty comfortably inside without touching the edges or drivers. A little late to this party, but to my ears -- weaned on Sennheiser 600s and later AKG 701/702 and Q701, I bought the 712s twice and both times I found them to sound thinner in the mid/upper-mid region, lacking the body of the aforementioned cans. It seems the K712 is a bit voracious when it comes to voltage despite its lowly 62ohm Impedance rating.
