Step 4 – Remove the screwdriver and the blue LED will flash once every 5 seconds (approx.) to indicate that it is in House Code mode and is looking for other alarms.

The Ei168 RadioLINK Base transmits a Radio Frequency (RF) alarm signal when the unit attached to it senses fire. When it receives an RF alarm signal from another Ei168 Base, the attached smoke or heat alarm will sound. It therefore eliminates the need to run long interconnect wires between all the smoke alarms on different floors and in different rooms. RF Visual Indicator: Amber light flashes continuously for 1.5 to 3.5 seconds while transmitting RF signal If you have more than one alarm in the property and they are interconnected, this will also trigger all the other alarms in the property. Step 8 – The blue LEDs on all units will now stop flashing and the entire system will automatically ‘seal’. Our goal is to provide one stop place for electricians and electrical contractors, but we are happy to help other clients too.

How do I change the battery in my alarm?

Most of our alarms have a 10-year life, after which they should be replaced to ensure you carry on getting the best protection. Once the system has been set up, information can be accessed securely from within or outside a property if access is an issue. Event logs can be retrieved as many times as necessary and for each alarm on the system, retrieving data such as how many direct button tests have been performed and when, any issues with the battery and/or mains supply, Carbon Monoxide (CO) levels detected if a CO alarm is on the system, Radio Frequency signal strength between alarms, age of alarms and any alarm removed. A Guide to House Coding House Coding Ei168RC RadioLINK Bases, Ei100MRF RadioLINK+ Modules or Ei3000MRF SmartLINK Modules A mixed wired and wireless system is often referred to as a hybrid system. To set a hybrid system up. Simply fit one Ei168RC base to an alarm in the existing alarms and any new alarms with Ei168RC bases.

The 3000, Ei2110e and 160e Series alarms all use modules to connect alarms with each other wirelessly using radio frequency signals. The RF range can be extensively improved by either adjusting the wire antenna or by converting the base into a 'repeater' i.e. re-transmission of the RF signals. It provides wireless interconnect between alarms, i.e. when one alarm is triggered, all alarms in the system sound.

For use with 140RC when using an Ei168Rc RadioLINK base, 160e when using and Ei100MRF RadioLINK + module, Ei3000 series when using an EI3000MRF SmartLINK module or any RadioLINK enabled CO alarms. The product is CE marked to indicate conformance to BS EN 60065:1998 (Electrical Safety), EN300220-1 V1.3.1 (2000-09) (RF Performance), EN301489 V1.4.1 (2002 08) (EMC) and has been 3rd party tested for electrical safety in accordance with Annex K of BS 5446: Pt.1:2000. The 160e Series and Multi-Sensor Fire Alarm use a RadioLINK Module,Ei100MRF,directly into the head of the alarm to gain RadioLINK+ capabilities instead of a base. You will know when you need to change the battery, as you will hear a single regular beep (low battery warning) coming from the alarm, however it is recommended that you change the battery every year.

Now test the alarm by pressing and holding the test button on the front of the unit. The unit should make an alarm sound and also activate any other alarms in the property. Turn the mains power to the alarms off in the property and ensure the green indicator light on the alarm is off. In code mode, the amber indicator will flash to indicate the number of other RF alarms that have been 'leaed' in the system All Aico alarms have a date-code label on the side of them which tells you exactly when the alarm was made and also the recommended replacement date. A RadioLINK Manual Call Point, Ei407 and remote control switches Ei450, Ei412 and Ei411H are also available for use in the system. See separate specification sheet(s) for further information.Find the alarm with the red light rapidly flashing. Press its ‘Hush’ button to silence. If that does not silence it, clean the alarm using a vacuum. Wait for 10 minutes and the issue should be resolved. Is there anything on the same circuit that could be causing electrical interference, e.g. a fluorescent light starter or a central heating pump? Once all the alarms have been installed the RadioLINK system is secured by a special House Coding function to safeguard the system from interference from other RF systems. The Ei168RC allows for easy expansion of an existing hard-wired interconnected system. The Ei168 base will normally be wired to the nearest mains circuit in the ceiling (usually the lighting circuit). The alarm is then slid onto the base rather than to its mounting plate. As many as twelve units can be interconnected in this way Step 5 – Repeat the House Code process in Steps 1-4 above with all the bases or alarms in your system.
