July 19-23/26-30/MARION – 9 a.m. to noon each day. Designed for ages 7 to 15 years, Set the Stage Theatre Camp is a 5-day camp experience to give campers the opportunity to develop their performance skills, express their creativity, and have fun while making new friends. Each day will focus on a different well-known tv genre. Students and instructors are encouraged to come dressed as favorite characters or stars according to the theme of the day. AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days
July 23-25/LEXINGTON – At the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. An annual motorcycle gathering including road racing on the traditional 2.4-mile, 15-turn natural terrain road course. This event is one of the largest gatherings in the world focused solely on celebrating the history of motorcycles in America with an abundance of racing, a massive swap meet, vendors, Q&A and information sessions on motorcycling topics, new motorcycle demo rides, and other off-track entertainment choices. This year’s theme celebrates Bruce Brown’s epic moto documentary “On Any Sunday” released 50 years ago this month. The event serves as a fundraiser for the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame, a non-profit organization that works to preserve the tradition of motorcycling in the United States. >MORE
Driftwood Art Contest
July 31/VERMILION – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Exchange Park With “All Washed Up” as the theme, this event is an opportunity to have fun and be creative. More than 50 artists and 800 visitors attended in 2019. Kids, teens, adults, families, groups, and groups of friends may participate. A new category, AWU 3-D, incorporates this year’s theme into the design of the art creations. The event will also include a 50/50 raffle, chances to win artwork created by local artists, and shopping for driftwood sailboats, seashell totes, and fun, temporary tattoos. Judging will take place at 10 a.m. and prizes for 1st place, runner up, and honorable mention in each category awarded at 11 a.m. Visitors will vote for the People’s Choice throughout the day with the winner announced at the end of the event. >MORE
Aug. 6,7,13,14/BUCYRUS – Stroll through the sunflower field at The Pickwick Place and enjoy fresh flowers, food, shopping, and more summer fun! Choose and cut your own sunflowers in their 2-acre sunflower field for $3 per stem. In order to help monitor the number of people in the field please reserve a time slot when reserving your free ticket on eventrite.com, The Ohio Flower Girls will have create-your-own flower arrangements at their Flower Bar. There will also be free wagon rides, music, and great photo opportunities. The Lunchbox will be serving food for purchase from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. They will also have delicious peach milkshakes, mason jar lemonades, and an ice cream sundae bar available for purchase!
