About this deal

Ava a rape survivor, bought up in foster care, whose mother was an addict, brother who suffers from some mental ailment , don't trust anyone, have built walls around her , that's all I guess , you know I really hate when author shoehorn the tragic past elements as a way to sympathize with the character ! And the struggle for Knox in being there for both Ava and Dane was done so well, and I loved how he dealt with it all the way through. Ava was faced with such a horrible experience and the pain from it never left her, but she was able to move forward day by day, taking in the positives of her life.

The author really pulls you in during that scene and if you’ve ever dealt with somebody who has battled with depression and drugs, you will understand the pain. In spite of the tragedy that caused her to leave Camden 10 months ago, Ava won’t let anyone stop her from succeeding now. To Ava, everyone is a suspect, including head QB, Knox, who bears emotional (and physical) scars of his own. She just has to survive her last year of high school around all the kids who try to intimidate her with their dismissive, superior attitudes.

Ava hates the Sharks, also known as the popular boys that rule the school, because she suspects that one of them was the one that raped her a year before. When I'd read this book, I had never read anything by this author, but I was curious about this one. This wasn’t a very happy story until you get to the epilogue because the characters deal with so much heartache. Ava is a hard worker (school and jobs) and attends Camden Prep (the bane of her existence) due to a scholarship. The way the students were treating Ava was unfair and made me angry for her, like I was wanting to throw my fists at anyone who wanted to mess with Ava!

It's not easy being back at that school and it's not easy falling for one of the guys she has hated ever since she stepped foot in this school three years ago. The book cover has no visible wear, and the dust jacket (if applicable) is included for hard covers. i’d have never picked this book for myself (not when it started getting all the hype was i ever interested), so Mina you know how much sway you have over me. This starts rather dark with Ava waking up after a party, laying in the grass, and realising that she's been sexually assaulted. O fato dele ter pego a queen bee da escola, depois ter pego mais algumas meninas e a Ava ter presenciado inclusive me irritou.I chose this book because I saw that Zachary Webber was the male narrator and I will listen to almost anything he reads. Revenge porn/being filmed without consent is a thing and it ruins lives, also what are these high school girls with so low self respect and stream that they have sex with a guy under his “only fuck from beside” shit? The storyline flowed perfectly, the characters easily became ones that we could all connect with on some level, making this book one I highly recommend. It's not the usual high school bully type of book, the characters were mature, and it read more adult than anything else which I really liked and it made everything feel very realistic. We start this book with her waking up in the forest not knowing how she got there but she sure knows that she has been raped but cannot remember anything.
