About this deal

There is also support for gaming enthusiasts via TCL Games Master Pro with a native 144Hz panel and the ability to use this via HDMI 1, plus there is support for 4K/120 via HDMI 2, AMD Freesync premium, ALLM (Auto Low Latency mode) and VRR (Variable refresh rate). International products have separate terms, are sold from abroad and may differ from local products, including fit, age ratings, and language of product, labeling or instructions. These features modify the images received by television via software, in many cases they create unwanted artifacts, we disable some of them, but here you have them . While they're traditionally known for their basic models with limited features, some recent releases feature the latest technology, including Mini LED backlighting and variable refresh rate (VRR) support.

TCL TVs use Roku or Google TV smart platforms, which are user-friendly and have many apps you can download. Editor's Note: TCL has informed us that there will be a letter in the box of any C735 (and C835/C935) offering purchasers a Roku stick so they can access the missing catch-up apps inc BBC iPlayer.Used in a typical room with lighting switched on, many of the panel limitations are mitigated and the performance is what we would expect at this market point and with this type of VA panel and backlight. It has a wide color gamut, almost as wide as the Q7, but it's just as color inaccurate as that model, so a calibrator is required if you care about color accuracy. Motion Estimation and Motion Compensation (MEMC): Enjoy smooth, fast-action scenes with Motion Estimation and Motion Compensation technology.

We would recommend avoiding watching HDR on the C735 in completely dark surroundings as this just highlights the weakness of the technology more. Dynamic metadata HDR content will tone map better with not as much highlight clipping and also retains the overall APL of the image. It's not a bad TV for gaming; its response time is okay, although it's worse in dark scenes, so it's not a great TV for fans of horror games. HDR is a bit of a letdown as the TCL C735 is just not that bright and while the tone mapping employed is good, especially with Dolby Vision content, the lack of contrast and dynamic range is obvious if you are used to higher-end LCD or OLED TVs. The LED LCD panel used is not capable of high peak brightness levels like the more expensive LCD TVs on the market and that is why using dynamic metadata formats like Dolby Vision and HDR10+ makes sense, as they can be utilised for the panel's capabilities. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. However, because there are so many rows, it can feel overwhelming, and it may take some time to fully navigate the interface if you're not used to it. We use Portrait Displays' Calman colour calibration software, a Murideo Seven Generator and Klein K-10A meter for measurement and calibration.

High Dynamic Range: Allows your screen to display a wider range of colour tones presenting an expanded contrast range between the brightest and darkest parts of the scene. This means that it displays the image as intended with no unnecessary clipping of details until reaching the clipping point of the panel. We are reviewing the 55-inch version of the TCL C735 and given other screen sizes use similar panels, performance should be reasonably similar, but we cannot guarantee that will be the case given the usual differences in LCD panel to panel.

If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. They've since adjusted their press release, removing all mention of the QD-OLED TV, so it's unclear whether or when it will come out. Replaced the older TCL 5 Series/S555 2022 QLED, TCL 4 Series/S455 2022, and TCL 40S325 with the newer TCL Q7/Q750G QLED, TCL Q6/Q650G QLED, and TCL S4/S450G, respectively. It doesn't perform well in a bright room as it has low peak brightness, but it has good reflection handling and displays deep blacks if you want to use it in a moderately-lit or dark room.

The panel is lightweight and made from plastic, with a cheap stand made up of two plastic legs with a larger plastic panel that covers these to create a central stand that holds the panel sturdy.Novuna is a trading style of Mitsubishi HC Capital UK PLC, authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. But at this market level, there are very few competitors that do better when it comes to HDR playback. Instead, the image looks detailed with decent colours, life-like skin tones and serviceable black levels in a normal room environment. The Smart TV lineup and playback from the VOD apps are also good with a fast response and no loading issues, crashing or slowing down witnessed in our time using the TV. TCL is among the few brands to announce a good mix of premium, high-end TVs and smaller budget models for their 2023 lineup.
