Elisabeth and Nathaniel must figure out why the manor reacted this way, and how to fix it before somebody gets hurt. The main plot of this novella is the manor effectively coming to life and trapping the four occupants inside until they can figure out how to make the manor calm down. I’m a tremendous sucker for intimate found family moments, and we get plenty of those in this novella. Faced with a house filled with unexpected secrets, the couple will have to lean on their connection like never before to set things right before it's too late.

It's told like an extended epilogue mixed into a short story, with enough intrigue to keep the plot-thirsty readers happy, and more than enough romance to satisfy our swoony selves. Honestly, if, through some godsend miracle, Margaret Rogerson publishes another novella or full-length novel - I would definitely not hate that - I would love to explore their relationship some more, maybe how they'll be and what they'll be doing together years from now. Therefore, all I am going to say is, this was the cutest most chaotic novella I've read recently and I couldn't possibly love it more. Mysteries of Thorn Manor depicts so much domestic bliss that we really get a chance to see how silly and playful he is with Elisabeth on a daily basis, and it’s delightful.
