We tried out the Off-TV Play feature on New Super Mario Bros. U, and the experience was just as seamless as playing it on the big screen. There’s no processing power in the GamePad itself. Instead, the console is still doing the work, and then wirelessly beaming the video to the device. If [HDMI] is selected, you can also select to automatically adjust the resolution (the HDMI device must be turned on). In this case, the screen for selecting resolutions will not be displayed. Resolution (video mode) varies depending on the TV type. For details, refer to the instructions supplied with the TV. If you select [Linear PCM 2 Ch. 88.2 kHz] or [Linear PCM 2 Ch. 176.4 kHz] in step 5, sound may be intermittent or may not be emitted from some audio devices.

The Wii U is a Nintendo video game console released on November 18, 2012 in North America as a successor to the Nintendo Wii. Users access the console's functions with both a television display and the gamepad controller, which features buttons and a touchscreen. On top of the gameplay and game mechanic differences from the Wii, it also has a refined CPU and GPU to allow more storage and better graphics. Just like its predecessor, the Wii U also has online play, internet access, entertainment services like Netflix and Hulu, and has the capability to use Wii controllers and run Wii games. When I said the legacy lives on, I wasn’t kidding: many of the Switch’s best-selling games are direct ports of Wii U titles. Mario Kart 8, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Donkey Kong: Tropical Freezeand Bayonetta 2 have all been ported, while Splatoon has seen a sequel. In short, if you want a Nintendo console, and can afford the extra, the Switch pretty much has the best of both worlds, with a few exceptions (no sign of a Pikmin 3 port yet.) Once the cables are inserted and the Wii console is powered on, switch your TV to the channel you use to watch movies. Put in a video tape and play the movie. When you see the movie playing, press stop (do not power off the VCR) and proceed to the next step. Select the input connector on the audio device. Channel numbers and audio formats that are supported vary depending on the connector in use. It’s not just games you can use the GamePad for. It can also be used as an impromptu TV remote (even when the Wii U is turned off), and its front-facing camera can be used to call your friends in the Wii U Chat app. Nintendo haven’t yet revealed how many megapixels the camera has, but we were quite impressed with it during our tests. Colours were a little washed out, but we didn’t experience any connectivity issues while trying it out, and our conversations were clear and lag-free.

D-terminal is a connector type used mainly in Japan. The resolutions supported by D1 to D5 are as follows: Select all resolutions supported by the TV in use.
