That is why I chose this photo to illustrate the promise that God continues to pour His love into our hearts by His Holy Spirit which He has given us. His love for us is a rushing river of His goodness towards us that never ends. While this truth is more real than everything else around us, it is easy to struggle to actually comprehend the greatness of God's love for us. I often feel that words fail to adequately describe His love.

Jesus Christ was sinless, perfect. Matthew 4 tells us of how he was led into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit to be tempted by Satan. There we see an example of what it might look like to resist the devil. Jesus resists him, and the devil flees. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” There are plenty of Bible verses about helping others. Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. God's Holy Spirit is the very core of His being, just like our spirit is the very essence of our existence. It is amazing to think that He has entrusted us with His precious Holy Spirit. It amazes me to think that we could be the resting place for the living God.

It helps a lot to live according to his principles of work and financial stewardship, but even when we fail at this, he always manages to find a way to see that his children are provided for. The way that I can walk in mercy (for myself) every day is by simply extending mercy to those around me. The person who cuts me off when I am driving, the miserable store clerk, the friend who might have offended me in some way. If I forget that I need mercy myself, I may forget that I need to extend mercy to others. No matter how difficult your circumstances, this promise never fails the Christian. What falls under the umbrella of all things? All things! Believe this and trust him. Is he teaching you? Is he refining you? It is common not to be able to understand when things are hard, but have faith that God is still on the throne and has a good purpose for all things. Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Romans 10:9-10 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. We were created to exist forever. We will either die and continue eternal life, or we will die and continue eternal death.

If you will make it your business to delight in him, enjoy him, he will put desires in your heart that are from him, and then he will give you those things he causes you to desire.Think of the areas that you need mercy in your own life. For your shortcomings, for your failures, etc. Do you want mercy to cover every area where you fall short? Then shower mercy on others on every occasion because mercy is receiving something we don't deserve.
